The Uniraid Dirty Irons team ends the rally and they tell us their experience
JG Automotive News, Automotive NewsJG Automotive collaborates with the UNIRAID Dirty Irons team, formed by Alejandro and Antonio, supporting this NGO that helps the most needy and remote towns of the Maghreb.
Our solidarity team tell us this experience:
“Year after year, Uniraid grows. The impact is greater the more participants there are, but also, more and more frequently, the universities themselves sign agreements for students to develop their end of degree projects or even, the project is validated as practices.
In this edition of Uniraid, we have delivered and configured 4 laptops for the qualification of a Computer Classroom at the Central School of Gourrama, in southern Morocco. This project adds to existing ones such as the creation of a bicycle workshop, solar energy installation or the installation of LED bulbs with the support of PHILIPS.
Dirty Irons Team collaborated with 170 Kg of solidarity material, including toys, children’s clothing and footwear, school supplies, stuffed animals … etc. However, there was much more material, which was not possible transport to Morocco by space in the car. This material was donated on behalf of the team and the sponsors to Cáritas, in the parish of Nuestra Señora de la Moraleja.
In this edition, exceeding, the amount of material made available to the association of Gourama was spectacular, bordering the 10 Tons. A large truck loaded to the brim parked in the middle of the desert. The official delivery took place in the camp, to the families who went there. Also present were government representatives, as well as teaching staff, school buses, etc. The delivery is made to this association, since it has signed agreements and permits to allow the entry into Morocco of several tons of this material.
To all the aforementioned is added what the teams distribute personally during the long stages in the most disadvantaged populations of both the Atlas and southern Morocco. Specifically, Dirty Irons Team, roamingly delivered about 40KG, focusing mainly on children’s clothing and footwear and school supplies.
A total of 170 cars participated in this edition, 50 more than the last edition. Students from France, Portugal, Andorra and Spain join in this solidarity event.
Uniraid also has a training purpose for young people. Starting with the entrepreneurship part, having to seek the support of companies and financing, during Uniraid very useful skills are developed for the future. Teamwork and companionship are essential in this adventure. ”
