The renewed Maserati premiere at the edge of the sea
Automotive NewsQuattroporte and Ghibli range of sedans and the Levante SUV
New colors, new rims and even more luxurious leather for the interior
The three models release a lever to activate the automatic change
Maserati has taken advantage of the celebration of the Cannes Yachting Festival, one of the most important nautical shows in the Mediterranean, to present the innovations that it has introduced in its range of Quattroporte and Ghibli saloons and in the elegant SUV Levante, the best-selling brand. The place could not be more suitable for a brand in which the sportiness and elegance of Italian style are highlighted by the logo of a trident, a reproduction of the statue of Neptune in the city of Modena, headquarters of Maserati.
In the absence of great technical innovations, the renovation in these models has focused on stylistic aspects that improve comfort, life on board and its already elegant aesthetics. The new V8 engines of 550 and 590 horses, presented this summer for the GTS and Trophy versions of the Maserati Levante, are not expected to be marketed in European markets for now.
New gear lever
The main novelty of the new range is the redesign of the gear lever and its functionality. All versions of the three models have an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission, although you can act manually with the levers behind the steering wheel. The new lever, smaller, ergonomic and intuitive, allows to pass from automatic to manual mode by moving it to the right or left and the parking position (P) is activated simply by pressing a button that is on the top of the lever.
The Maserati Touch Control Plus information and entertainment system (MTC Plus), which share all three models and is managed through an 8.4-inch touch screen located in the center of the dashboard, has also been improved. The air conditioning has been revised and now gets a better personalization for the driver and the passenger. All versions can now choose adaptive headlights with Full LED technology and integrated control of the vehicle.
The interior design of the Maserati models, has an unmistakable Italian style, elegant and always with a sophisticated point. Even the most technological versions, with carbon fiber inserts preserve that classic elegance and a little timeless. The care in the design is shown even in the drawing of the stitching on the leather with which the designers get a more classic or more technological interior style.
Within this line, the three models debut a new type of leather for the upholstery of the seats and the trim of the doors called Pienio Fiore. It is a high quality leather, unusual in the automotive sector, and softer to the touch.
Exclusivity Zegna
You can also choose as an option for an interior dressed by Ermenegildo Zegna, one of the best tailors in the world. Zegna has designed seats that combine the skin on the sides, in black, beige or red, with a silk technological fabric in the center, always in gray. The development of this fabric meant a year of research to meet the rigorous safety requirements of the automotive sector, but the result is excellent. We are only very comfortable but also get better cooling than perforated leather.
On the outside global changes are focused on two new tires for the lift and the Quattroporte and for the Ghibli, 20 and 21 inches, and two new colors for the body, the Rosso Power and the Blu Nobile.
But small modifications are also included in the exterior design of the Levante in the Gran Sport finish and inspired by the new V8 versions. New appearance of the lower part of the front and rear bumper, which give it a more sporty and dynamic look.
All gasoline engines of the Maseati models are manufactured at the Ferrari plant in Maranello (Italy), customized for the trident brand. Diesel is assembled in Ferrara. Their good behavior and response combine an unmistakable sound that makes the trip even more pleasant and makes this brand a very interesting option in the Premiun segment due to its unmistakable personality.
The renewed Maserati Levante is already available with a price from 91,800 euros with the diesel engine, 101,200 gasoline and from 106,200 (5,000 euros more) the Gran Lusso and Gran Sport versions.
The Quattroporte range starts at 114,100 euros (diesel) and 141,000 (gasoline). The Gran Lusso and Gran Sport completions, from 130,900 euros.
