The latest news and proposals for the immediate future of the major automotive brands come to the 2017 edition of the Frankfurt Motor Show, which is held in the German city from 14 to 24 September, as the days 12 and 13 are exclusive to press and companies.
This event has become one of the most important events of the year to know the novelties that will reach the market and the second that is celebrated in Europe, after Geneva. The Frankfurt Motor Show is held in alternate years with the Paris Motor Show.

The Frankfurt Motor Show was born as a showcase for the German automobile industry and, as such, its origin was in the capital of the country, specifically in a hotel in Berlin in 1897. It barely had a score of vehicles.
Until the beginning of World War I was celebrated annually, except between 1905 and 1907, in which two were celebrated to the year due to the boom of the sector. Despite the ceaseless increase of visitors and exhibitors, the IAA was interrupted during the 1914-1921 war. Although the hall reopened in 1921, the war wounds are still fresh and the organization forbids the presence of foreign vehicles until the edition of 1926.
In 1939, just a few weeks before the start of World War II, the doors of the Motor Show were opened for the last time, which will remain closed until 1950, the first edition after the war.
In 1951 the headquarters of the German Motor Show moved from Berlin to Frankfurt. Since then, it is held every two years, alternating with the Paris Motor Show, which takes place in even years.
The year 1989 edition of the Frankfurt IAA was the most multitudinous, surpassing the million visitors a total of 1,200,000.
