The main shareholder of the Russian AvtoVAZ, Alliance Rostec, has appointed Yves Caracatzanis as the new CEO of the car company. The appointment will be effective on June 1.

Until then, the current Chief Executive Officer, Nicolas Maure, will continue to control the financial recovery and development of the company’s medium-term plan as president of Renault in Eurasia and as vice president of the board of directors of AvtoVAZ.

Alliance Rostec is a joint venture between Renault, Nissan and Russian Rostec that owns 64.6% of AutoVaz (the Renault-Nissan Alliance controls 40.7%).

The chairman of the board of directors of AutoVAZ, Serguei Skvortsov, assured that the Russian car company will continue the development of Lada’s sales in Russia and abroad.

Caracatzanis was the Chairman and CEO of the Dacia brand, also part of the Renault Group, in Romania. His successor in office will be Antoine Doucerain, who after having spent three years in Brazil will direct the French plants in the western area.
