Opel unveils in Frankfurt the Grandland X, its first plug-in hybrid model
Automotive NewsThe German automaker Opel, recently incorporated into the PSA Group, has presented the new SUV Grandland X, the first hybrid plug-in model of the brand at the Frankfurt Motor Show (Germany).
Along with the Grandland X, Opel has also introduced the sporty GSi Insignia and the variant jacket of this model, the Country Tourer, as explained the manufacturer in a statement.
Opel president and CEO Michael Lohscheller has said that since the brand are “very proud to be part of the PSA Group,” while emphasizing that together “will create a European champion.”
The Grandland X comes as standard with automatic cruise control with pedestrian detection, emergency braking, driver drowsiness alerts, advanced parking assistance and a 360-degree camera.
In addition, Opel has equipped the Grandland X with bright driving light thanks to the Adaptive Forward Lighting (AFL) headlamps and, optionally, IntelliGrip electronic traction can be equipped, which ensures stable handling regardless of whether the vehicle is moving by snow, mud, sand or wet surfaces.
The new Opel SUV has a length of 4.48 meters in length and is equipped with the latest generation of Android Auto and Apple CarPlay systems, as well as the Opel OnStar service assistant, which includes a Wi-Fi hotspot with the one that you can look for parking.
On the other hand, the GSI Insignia assembles a total intelligent traction with vectorial direction of pair by means of which the vehicle responds in a form “more direct and precise” to the controls of direction.
In addition, this new automatic transmission of eight speeds can be actuated through the cams of changes in the steering wheel.
Finally, Opel has introduced the Country Tourer, the top variant of the Insignia, which stands out for its black protective coating molded around the lower body of the vehicle, for the increase of 20 millimeters in distance to the ground, four-wheel drive and the new five-spoke rear suspension.
