Lamborghini Huracan Performante Spyder: at the speed of light

Automotive News

The record car already has its convertible version. The Lamborghini Huracán Performante Spyder has been the proposal of the Sant’Agata brand for the Geneva Motor Show, bringing to the Swiss show one of the most sporty convertibles on the market.

Because not in vain, the Hurricane Performante Spyder hides under its hood an atmospheric 5.2 V10 engine with no less than 640 horsepower, capable of propelling this gale up to 325 km / h. The sprint signs in just 3.1 seconds, figures available to very few.

Like his coupé body brother, compared to the Huracan Spyder ‘to dry’ is lighter, in this case 34 kilos (the total in scale of the Performante Spyder is 1,507 kg.) The secret: the use of lightweight composites in pieces such as rear spoiler, front spoiler, rear bumper, bonnet and diffuser.

In addition to the diet of slimming, the other major key of the Performant Hurricane, also present in the Spyder, is the ALA (Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva): a system of active flaps that are controlled continuously (every 500 milliseconds) to adapt the aerodynamics of the car to the rhythm or conditions of driving.

The rest of the dynamic improvements of the Performante versions, as we already described in the article about the Huracán coupé, affect the electronics: ESC stability control, steering, integral traction or even the ANIMA (mode selector driving) are specially calibrated for these sporty versions.

The retractable (canvas) roof hardly reduces rigidity to the whole of the Huracan Performante Spyder and its arrangement in the back contributes to maintain an almost perfect weight distribution (47/53). It folds in just 17 seconds and can be done in motion, up to 50 km / h. The rear window is electric and can be used as a windbreaker when we roll barefoot. The price of the Lamborghini Huracan Performante Spyder is 219,585 euros for Europe, to which we must add the taxes of each country. That means a price increase of 24,000 euros compared to the closed version.
