Iveco beats its own record and will deliver 500 Stralis NP natural gas to Jost Group
Automotive NewsIveco has broken its own record in the supply of natural gas vehicles with the order recently signed by Belgian transport company Jost Group, which will soon deliver 500 Stralis NPs powered by Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG).
From the Italian multinational, they explain that the Stralis NP is designed to be “the most sustainable heavy-duty long-haul truck ever made”. The first 150 vehicles will enter service throughout 2018, while the rest of the units will be gradually incorporated into the Jost Group fleet until 2020.
With this operation Jost Group continues with its strategy towards a “green logistics and sustainable transport that its customers are asking for more and more”. The target of the Belgian group is that 35% of its fleet is propelled by LNG, a target towards which it walks with steady pace with the start up of three points of supply of this fuel in its main bases in the central European country.
The new Stralis NP 500 will replace as many as four or five year old Euro 6 vehicles which currently serve the fleet of 1,400 tractors of the Belgian company, which also has 3,000 semi-trailers.
