From R8 to Captur, Valladolid celebrates 7 million cars at Renault factory

The factory of Bodywork and Assembly of Renault in Valladolid has made today the vehicle number seven million since the opening in 1972 of that plant, a model Captur with destiny to a client of France, have informed today sources of the French multinational.

Between the initial R8 and the current Captur, forty-five years of work have passed, nineteen models and seven million units have been removed from this plant, known as Assembly 2 and which succeeded the historic one (Assembly 1), opened in 1953 and closed in 1991

During this period, Assembly 1 assembled 2,400,000 units of fourteen different models, which added to the seven million Assembly 2 add up to 9.4 million vehicles exported to more than seventy countries from Valladolid over sixty-four years.
