Automotive NewsThe plant, located near Rabat, aims to become a worldwide center of operations for power cables and cameras.
Ficosa, a family industrial group specializing in systems and components for vehicles, has invested 50 million euros to start manufacturing in Morocco in 2018, as explained by the company’s general director, Xavier Pujol.
Pujol has detailed that the factory, which is located near Rabat, aims to become a center of global operations of electrical cables and cameras, with an expected turnover of up to 145 million euros and a total of 750 workers in 2022.
On the other hand, the manager has rejected the change of headquarters outside of Catalonia for Ficosa, since he has reasoned that it is not an Ibex 35 company or one that exports the majority of its production to the rest of Spain, conditions that it considers reasonable for justify the transfer.
For Pujol, maintaining the headquarters in Catalonia allows “to give peace of mind” and offer an image that business continues as usual, which also serves to offer serenity to society.
