Exciting weekend at Castelo Branco in the second round of the Peugeot Rally Cup Ibérica.

JG Automotive News, Automotive News

After the weekend of the Rally, Fco. Dorado tells us how the test was, these are his comments;

“As I told you, last weekend we participated in the second scoring round for the Peugeot Rally Cup Ibérica, in Castelo Branco (Portugal). After the abandonment in the Rally of Portugal WRC, our objective was only to finish this race, in the best possible way.

The weekend was very complicated, because in the Shakedown on Friday, we had a small mishap in which we left the car touched. We were already thinking of leaving without starting the rally, something incredible for us. Thanks to our mechanics, we were able to repair the car throughout the night to have it ready to run the next day. It was a very hard day, but on Saturday we were at the start.

With this situation we take the rally more calmly if possible. In the first section we came out with hard dry wheels and it was wet, so we still had a difficult situation. In the second, which was a section that we liked and was already dry, we had electronic problems and they lost a lot. We were very loose of the classification, 15th in the cup and 31st of the rally, but we did not want to give up.

After a good second pass and the show stage, we went to sleep with the feeling that we could do much the next day. So it was. We managed to get confidence little by little in the sections of Sunday, getting a good setup, and a good feeling in the car. In the end, 7th of the cup and 16th in the general. We were able to fight for the 5th place in the cup, but it escaped us by very little, only 3 seconds.

In the end, the important thing is that we managed to overcome the problem of Friday, and to regain confidence in the car.

The next stop: Ferrol Rally, from July 20 to 22.

Thank you all for your support and confidence.”
