Vigo’s PSA factory reaches 13 million vehicles produced

A Citroën Grand C4 Picasso has been the 13 million vehicle manufactured in the center since it began its activity in 1958

The Citroën Grand C4 Picasso, which raises the 13 millionth production at the Vigo Center, left the production line this morning. Frédéric Puech, Director of the Iberian Industrial Center and Center of Vigo, together with the main executives of the plant, representatives of the Business Committee, and a representative of the workers carried out a commemorative photograph with the vehicle at the End of the Factory.

Subsequently, the Director of the Vigo Center, Frédéric Puech, accompanied by the Chairman of the Works Council, Antonio Rodríguez, boarded the vehicle on the Victory Leader vessel, docked at the Port of Bouzas, bound for the port of Zeebrugge, from where it will be distributed to Japan.

The second generation of the Citroën C4 Picasso, in its 5 and 7-seater versions, started to be produced in series in 2013. This vehicle, which incorporates numerous technological innovations, brought with it the implantation in the Center of Vigo of the modular platform EMP2, whose versatility allows to produce short and long saloons, coupés, minibuses, SUVs and light utility vehicles.

Since the Citroën C4 Picasso was launched in Vigo in 2006, there have been around 1.5 million vehicles to date, 15% to the domestic market and 85% to the international market. France, Great Britain, Spain, Italy and Germany the main countries of destination, to a total of 50 countries around the world.
The Vigo Center of the PSA Group produces 1,900 vehicles every day on the Citroën C4 Picasso, Grand C4 Picasso, Berlingo and C-Elysée models, and the Peugeot Partner and 301 models.
