Sales of General Motors in the United States increased by 7.5 percent in August
Automotive NewsGeneral Motors (GM) sales in the United States increased by 7.5% in August, the maker said, thanks to a 24% increase in business fleet deliveries.
But GM added that sales to individuals, which reported more profits to manufacturers, also rose by 4% in August.
For brands, Chevrolet and GMC ended the month with gains while the other two names of the group, specialized in high-end and luxury vehicles, Buick and Cadillac, lost clientele.
Chevrolet sold 196,007 vehicles, 11.4% more than in August 2016.
GMC, specializing in the production of pickup trucks and SUVs, delivered 47,718 units, up 12.4%.
Buick, which produces high-end vehicles, sold 16,811 vehicles, down 22.5 percent.
And Cadillac, GM’s luxury brand, delivered 15,016 units, down 8.1 percent from a year ago.
