Sales of Fiat Chrysler in the US fall 11 percent in AugustAutomotive News
Fiat Chrysler Group (FCA) said today that its August sales in the United States were down 11% to 176,033 vehicles, due to the fall in both private and corporate demand.
FCA delivered 140,379 vehicles in August to individuals, 7% less than in the same period of 2016.
Sales to business fleets fell by 23%, although the company, like the rest of the sector, is implementing measures to reduce this type of sales.
FCA noted that six of its models last month earned sales records for August: Dodge Challenger, Chrysler Pacifica, Jeep Compass, Ram ProMaster, Jeep Renegade and Ram ProMaster City.
By brands, Dodge delivered to its customers in August 43,608 vehicles, 2% less than a year ago.
Jeep, which specializes in SUVs and SUVs, sold 73,191 vehicles, down 15%.
Chrysler lost 33% of its sales, with delivery of 12,652 vehicles.
Ram, specializing in pickups and vans, sold 43,322 units, down 2% from 2016.
Sales of Fiat were 2,120 units, down 23%, while those of Alfa Romeo added 1,140 vehicles, up 2,981% more than in 2016.
