Automotive News

Renault Spain’s president, Jose Vicente de Los Mozos, today called on the government “a serious policy” of aid to the car, and said that there must be “a comprehensive plan and execute it.”

Speaking to reporters after a visit to the Renault factory in Valladolid to announce the implementation of new production systems, José Vicente de los Mozos has shown “totally agree” with the offer of aid within the policy of “zero emissions”, in addition to creating infrastructures that favor the electric vehicle.

He also warned that “it is true” that in Spain the car park is “old” and to renew it is necessary, in his opinion, “help the renovation” with low emission vehicles.

He has insisted that plans need to be implemented and has set the example of the Movea Plan to help in the acquisition of low emission vehicles, about which he has said that he still “has fifty million who have been running for five months.”

“In this country we have to make things better, because we talk a lot and we do little,” the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Renault España and global director of Manufacturing of the Renault group has ruled.

However, De los Mozos has recognized that he maintains good relations with the Junta de Castilla y León and has been pleased with how today in this autonomous community is “a reference of what has been done in the automotive industry in Spain.”

In this regard, he said that the new aluminum injection plant in Valladolid will have six machines, instead of the four initially planned, and has reported that it works with the Junta de Castilla y León in the creation of a new supplier park in Valladolid, which will add to the already existing in Palencia, where Renault has another factory.

De los Mozos has indicated that Renault “is prepared” in its manufacturing centers to meet both the demand for production of diesel and gasoline vehicles and has announced the possibility of creating an assembly line for hybrid car batteries.

On the other hand, the Chairman of the Board of Renault Spain has highlighted the relationship that the company has with the unions, which has allowed to agree three industrial plans, and has announced a second generation of Captur, although it has avoided revealing in which plants will be manufactured when the current one is produced in Valladolid.
