Hybrid and electric registrations rose 74.4% in JulyAutomotive News
The registrations of hybrid and electric vehicles in Spain have risen by 74.4% in July compared to the same month last year, to a total of 5,764 units, according to data provided today by the manufacturers Anfac.
In the accumulated of the year have sold 35,708 units, which represents an increase of 82.7% with respect to the same period of 2016.
This implies that the market share of the total market is 3.9%, although it is only 4.5% for cars.
Anfac stressed that the expansion by manufacturers of alternative energy vehicles “makes them gain, little by little, popularity.”
The bosses added that the same thing happens with vehicles with hybrid technology, whose variety in the market is increasing “and they are a mechanical option really attractive for the drivers”.
Electric and Hybrid Sales
In the first seven months of the year, electric vehicles registered 3,636 registrations, an increase of 33.3% compared to the same period in 2016.
In July, 673 units were delivered, an increase of 81.4%.
The vehicle market with hybrid technology has grown 90.6% between January and July, reaching 32,072 units registered.
Last month, 5,091 units were sold, 73.5% more than in July 2016.
