Concept X7 iPerformance: BMW’s biggest SUV preview

Automotive News

The Frankfurt Motor Show will be the stage where we will see the definitive design advance thanks to the Concept X7 iPerformance
The final model will be presented in 2018
Next year, BMW will launch the largest model in the X family, called the X7. Meanwhile, the Frankfurt Motor Show will be the stage where we will see the definitive design advance thanks to the Concept X7 iPerformance.
The iPerfomance logo is featured by an electric motor and a BMW TwinPower Turbo petrol engine, which create a plug-in hybrid drive system.
Inside there is room for six people. In it, BMW wants the occupants to be connected at all times. For example, in the second row we see two screens on the front head restraints.
Through them, the occupant can share content with other passengers by sending a song to the infotainment system with a single gesture, sending a notice to the next device or transferring an email address to the navigation.

The driver has a large screen in the instrument cluster of 12.3 inches next to the other screen that reigns in the center console. They are practically glued to create the effect of having a single screen. Moreover, that is the idea of BMW: create an interactive use between both.
On the roof stands the Y-shaped design, mostly glazed, allowing a great light entry into the passenger compartment. In the front, the design of the grill leaves the usual tone of BMW, with two large air intakes on the sides and the headlights elongated with laser light.
Laterally we see a chrome strip that extends almost to the rear view mirrors. Before them is the loading point of the Concept X7 iPerformance. His tires, prominent, have dimensions of 23 inches.
Finally in the rear emphasizes the design of the chromed edges and the fine lights that are united to each other creating a line. In addition, the prototype lacks fittings for the exhaust outlets, indicator of its proposal of plug-in hybrid propulsion.
