Grupo Antolin achieved sales of 2,594 million euros in the first half of the year, 2.2% higher than those of the same period of the previous year, and is on track for future growth thanks to the good performance of its business in China and to the application of its strategic plan, which includes investments of 900 million euros in three years, the largest in the history of the company.
The Burgos group, which became one of the main car interior manufacturers in the world after the purchase of Magna’s business dedicated to this activity, maintained its gross operating profit (ebitda) at 268 million and its operating profit at 183 million euros ), owing inter alia to the initial costs of its investment plan. His figures do not include data for his seat, which was closed on 28 April.
Grupo Antolin explains that its results are marked by important investments planned this year and the launch of new products in some factories. In the first half of the year, its roofing business unit was the one with the highest sales volume, with 1,082 million, followed by doors, which added 788 million euros, and of cockpits, that is, panels instruments and consoles, with 564 million euros. The lighting unit procured him sales for 159 million.
The company, which has 149 factories in 26 countries and with more than 26,000 employees, is growing strongly in China, at a rate above the market average. The group is making an important effort in this country, where it has won important contracts for BMW, Daimler, Volkswagen, Jaguar-Land Rover, Ford, Geely-Volvo and major local manufacturers.
In any case, Europe is the main region for sales, with 1,408 million euros, while North America contributed 889 million euros, compared to 245 million Asia-Pacific and 39 million Mercosur.
Also this semester, the company has launched its first Dual Vocational Training Center in Spain, inaugurated in May in Burgos. This center joins the one that already has in Germany. The Spanish center, a pioneer in the sector, has an expected capacity of 50 students and was born with the aim of becoming a reference in the development of innovative technologies for Grupo Antolin.
The company currently has more than 70 projects in the research phase and more than 30 in the validation phase. In the last three years, it has launched 20 innovative solutions to the market.
