Cupra Arona 2020: the next rival SUV of the Nissan Juke Nismo

To the confirmed Cupra Ateca and to the one hundred percent electric racing car Cupra e-Racer, the Cupra Arona could be added soon, a ** small or urban SUV with a clear sports side **.

The new sports brand and already independent of Seat, Cupra, wants to offer a wide and varied range of cars. Due to the growing interest in SUV vehicles, the staging of a Cupra Arona could be very well received by the general public.

According to the first information collected by Autopista.es, the Cupra Arona should come true by the end of 2020 or the beginning of 2021. By then, Nissan would have already presented the latest version of Juke Nismo, the most sporting and exciting variant of its well-known urban SUV .

The Cupra Arona will be another car that will have as a technical base the transversal modular platform MQB A0 for small cars of the Volkswagen Group. The Seat Arona, the Seat Ibiza and the VW Polo (and the next Audi A1 Sportback) already use this platform. In the case of sportier versions, the latest evolution of the VW Polo GTi also draws on the technical benefits of the MQB A0 platform and, where appropriate, uses a 2.0 TSI 2.0-cylinder engine with 200 hp. This same propeller with a similar power could give life perfectly to the definitive Cupra Arona.

At the chassis level, the Cupra Arona will also have notable changes compared to the “normal” Seat Arona, with a braking system more typical of sports vehicles and suspensions with a firmer setting that will serve to increase the dynamic agility of this SUV.

The design will be another of the differentiating elements between the Arona Cupra and the Seat Arona, with a clear commitment to aggressive and sporting details both outdoors (skirts, larger air intakes, rear spoiler, rear air diffuser, rear wheels). larger alloy …) as in the interior (with aluminum pedals, sports seats and the strategic presence of the Cupra logo in various places in the passenger compartment).

Regarding the great rival of the future Cupra Arona, the latest version that has been selling Nissan Juke Nismo has been the variant RS, with petrol engine 1.6 DIG-T of 218 hp. Do you dare to stand up to Cupra Arona and Nissan Juke Nismo other small SUVs? Will there be a Hyundai Kona N or a Kia Stonic GT? We will continue informing…
